Assistant Management Couple -Field Guide and FOH/Lodge Anchor, Hoedspruit

A Lodge situated deep in hear of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve Is looking for a couple with a hand on attitude- whom are able to work in any department. 

It is a unique position as the lodge is very remote within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.

It is an ideal position for a couple looking for a more hands-on operation – they are literally working in every department.

For her:

• management, instructing and overseeing of staff, with the team of managers
  
• hosting of guests, including lock up duty (this is done on rotation)
  
• overseeing camp preparation for guests – checking rooms, special touches, creative flair, attention to detail is a huge factor
  
• towntrips when required
  
• support to lodge manager & general managers
  
• checking in orders on arrival when required
  
• strong admin function (including guest travel logistics, guest accounts and payments, balancing of petty cash & handling/processing of gratuities)
  
• guest check in and check out
  
• doing external activities eg. Sundowner set ups, pancake stops etc
  
• must be hands-on & be able to keep an eye on everything going on
  

For him:

• doing two gamedrives per day in a busy operation
  
• working with relief manager in instructing and overseeing of staff when lodge manager is on leave
  
• overseeing lodge and property maintenance & upkeep
  
• hosting of guests, including lock up duty (on rotation basis)
  
• overseeing camp preparation for guests
  
• towntrips when required
  
• support to lodge manager & general managers
  
• doing external activities eg. Sundowner set ups, pancake stops etc
  
• small admin function
  
• must be hands-on
  
• enjoying photography is a plus, providing social media content
  

ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT COUPLE REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

• This is not a position for FOH lady that also likes guiding, it is purely a full time FOH position.
  
• They must both have 5-star lodge experience – him as trails guide (preferred but not a deal-breaker) / her as FOH
  
• It would be in their favour to have strong admin (her more) and planning skills (both)
  
• Need to be able to be team players, flexible & willing to do a wide scope of duties
  
• He must have guiding experience and qualifications:
  

• at least FGASA Level 1, FGASA Lead Trails Guide and FGASA ARH qualifications, level 1 first aid certificate & PRDP
  
• or NQF2 incl 8440 and 8478 and VPDA, level 1 first aid certificate & PRDP
  
• plus Cathsseta certificate and valid registration with NDT
  
• plus SASSETA rifle proficiency certificate of a minimum .375 calibre rifle, unit standard 117705, unit standard 123519, unit standard 119651
  
• if using personal rifle, must have a “for business purposes license” and must be valid
  

Work cycle:

6 weeks on / 2 weeks off + 7 days compensation leave where possible.

No additional annual leave is given.

Starting date:

Immediately | as soon as

Reporting to the lodge managers, and relief lodge managers when managers are on leave

ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT COUPLE REQUIREMENTS

Salary – negotiable if very strong candidates:

R32 000 gross + R3 000 food allowance (not given in cash), including 50% Discovery medical aid and provident fund contributions after probation.

Because of our remote location and the accommodation available, the position is for couples without children (strict mandate from our owners that couples cannot be planning a family in the near future 

Accommodation is a cottage with bedroom, lounge and ensuite bathroom, with a shared kitchen with the other couple.
