KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Centralised Procurement

1. Source and procure goods and services for the organization in a timely and cost-effective manner.

2. Manage purchase orders, quotations, and approvals in line with company procedures.

Supplier Management

1. Maintain relationships with suppliers, monitor performance, and ensure service level agreements are met.

2. Evaluate and onboard new suppliers as required.

Policy Compliance

1. Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

2. Assist in updating and implementing procurement policies as needed.

Cost Management

1. Monitor and control procurement costs, negotiate competitive pricing, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

2. Maintain records of expenditures and procurement budgets.

Coordination and Support

1. Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and provide procurement support.

2. Assist teams with urgent procurement needs and resolve supplier-related issues.

Reporting and Record-Keeping

1. Maintain accurate procurement records, files, and databases.

2. Generate regular procurement reports, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and inventory tracking.

Insurance Claims (Submission & Tracking)

1. Assist in submitting insurance claims related to procurement or supplier-delivered goods.

2. Track and follow up on claims until resolution

REQUIREMENTS

1. Grade 12

2. Diploma or Degree in one of the following: Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Procurement, Logistics / Operations Management

3. Minimum 3 years of experience in a procurement or buying role (non-profit or service sector and added advantage)

4. Experience managing multiple sites or stakeholders is an advantage.

5. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

6. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

7. Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

8. Knowledge of procurement software or systems.

9. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

10. Understanding of procurement policies, compliance and ethical sourcing practices.

11. Financial &/ or legal background (legal to understand contracts, terms etc.) (financial to be methodical and make sure purchase doesn’t exceed budget etc.)

12. Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport for occasional travel to business units.

13. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

RUMUNERATION

R20,000 (Basic Salary)
