Position Title: Healthcare Manager
Location: Citrusdal, Western Cape
Reports To: Senior Management / Foundation Board
Purpose of the Role
The Healthcare Manager is responsible for the clinical and operational management of an on-site health centre serving employees and surrounding community members. The role combines the delivery of Primary Health Care services with full accountability for clinic operations, occupational health compliance, wellness initiatives, and administrative oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Provide comprehensive Primary Health Care services to employees and community members.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice.
- Promote preventative healthcare through screenings, education, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
Clinic Operations & Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the health centre, ensuring efficient and professional service delivery.
- Manage clinic staff, including supervision, scheduling, and performance oversight.
- Coordinate administrative processes, reporting, and record-keeping.
- Ensure adequate stock control and management of medical supplies and equipment.
Occupational Health
- Oversee the Occupational Health programme and relevant service providers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Support workplace health initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.
Governance & Financial Oversight
- Manage the clinic budget and monitor expenditure.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulatory and professional standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Recognised Primary Healthcare qualification.
- Valid dispensing licence.
- Registered healthcare practitioner in good standing with the relevant professional body.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in community or rural healthcare.
- Proven leadership and clinic management experience.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health legislation and practices.
- Computer literacy (MS Office proficiency).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- High level of professionalism, empathy, and commitment to community health.
