The main purpose of the job to lead business development efforts of increasing the customer base through customer retentions, new acquisitions, establishment of new networks and commercial products, and, increase in market share and revenue per commercial product. You will provide a proactive service management function that will retain and grow customers portfolios by identifying and implementing value adding and specialised financial product solutions from a range of standard and/or customised offerings. You will formulate business development strategies to establish long-term sustainable relationships with customers that drive business growth. Identify, segment and communicate sales and marketing plans to execute the strategy. Provide advisory services to senior management and the executive committee on client segments, target and pricing. Developing and identifying products that meet customer requirements and provide insights into consumer behaviour based on client segments and product portfolio.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Strategy
- Regularly engage communication in publications in general to keep abreast with consumer behaviour across industries, specific to the commercial products in our offering and those offered by our competitors
- Research industry trends in a systematic way and create frameworks to track announcements that present possible business opportunities
- Develop deal sourcing strategies to identify potential customers and business opportunities
- Develop client value propositions to develop suitable strategies to support clients
- Develop, coordinate, and implement sales and marketing strategy to attract and retain customers, establish pipelines, and run campaigns targeting clients
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing commercial product offerings and identify cross-selling opportunities to grow revenue for the organization
- Complete request for quotations (RFQ's) and proposals, follow up on submissions and close business deals
Risk, regulatory, prudential and compliance
- Identify risks associated with each commercial product and mitigate risks identified by working closely with the Risk and Compliance team and engaging debtors' insurance companies, export credit insurance companies, internal teams (to amend process flows) and other stakeholders
- Support legal advisors by providing key insights into input to incorporate in the terms and conditions of the contract as per client requirements after ensuring alignment with internal teams (finance, risk and compliance and research)
Stakeholder Management
- Identify networking opportunities such as conferences, (individual and group) meetings and industry-specific events to develop relationships with key stakeholders
- Negotiate corporate partnership terms and business alliances to increase the client base
- Increase market share and positioning by locating, developing, defining, and closing offtake agreements
- Ensure consistent execution of client value proposition using customer needs analysis
- Lead marketing campaigns that drive cost effective, efficient, and measurable impact for commercial products on route to market
- Manage inbound and outbound marketing
Commercial Products
- Understand commercial products and client requirements as well as the nuances associated with specific segments to provide bespoke solutions and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Analyse and review commercial products, target markets, beneficiaries, process flows, risks & mitigation, research paradigm and financial viability, specific to return on investment
- Collaborate with commercial product managers to develop new commercial products based on consumer insights and demands
Financial Management
- Manage pricing concessions and revenue collection
- Develop business metrics with finance that relate to revenue, profitability, market share and product portfolio mix for monitoring commercial product portfolio and/or customer performance
- Develop client revenue forecasts
Technology, systems and processes
- Support the design and development of networking systems that support lead generation and client engagements
- Develop communication content targeting client segments and develop systems that support the different types of clients
- Develop process flows supporting systems and use these to generate revenue and growth in different client segments
QUALIFICATIONS, MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- B Degree in Marketing
- 5 years' experience in relationship management for corporate client and developing strategies in sales and marketing in a financial services and knowledge of the industry along with a pulse on what is forthcoming
- Understand regulatory and statutory environment of financial services industry
