To develop compelling visual stories to effectively communicate meaningful insights from large data sets, to use visualisation tools and software to communicate information, to assist with design of surveys and questionnaires to collect accurate data and perform data editing and cleaning, to conduct tests which will determine the reliability and soundness of the data and to help answer analytical questions through graphical representations. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Specialist: Data Analysis.

• Gather requirements, employ agile development practices, conduct system integration and user acceptance testing on survey instrument development
• Works with superiors in the planning of special compilations and surveys by proposing survey and questionnaire designs and preparing supplementary materials
• Proposes solutions and alternatives for resolving problems and questions that arise during planning and conducting of surveys by developing new or modifying existing          methods
• Keeps abreast of new theoretical and practical statistical developments and determines applicability of methodologies to analyze industry data
• Follow, update and prepare documentation to ensure that agreed quality assurance standards are met
• Develop efficient survey sample design to optimize data for analytical purposes
• Coordinate multiple concurrent samples, deduplicating cases across different surveys
• Extract appropriate signals (i.e., descriptor variables) to accurately describe frame profiles and eligible sample profile as weighting benchmarks
• Calculate relevant selection probabilities for sample base weights
• Propose sample and weighting plans that advance the accuracy and precision of survey findings
• Research, evaluate, and make recommendations for new data visualization techniques, tools, and platforms
• Prepare and conduct presentations on systems, reports and findings to stakeholders, as and when required
• To analyze data requests to ensure correct data was extracted, check all outputs for accuracy and escalate any issues with stakeholders and follow up to ensure resolution

Requirements

Degree in Informatics, Information Systems, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 4 years work experience in a field where design of surveys, questionnaires, interactive graphics infographics and data visualizations was major, preferably in a financial services sector.

Conducted small/moderate surveys or statistical studies, collected and analysed the data, and provided reports that were utilized by an organization.

Prepared schedules for completion of surveys and reviewed returns for accuracy and completeness.

Have experience with Business Intelligence and data discovery tools.

Understands ETL basic concepts of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation, change data capture and transformation.
