Financial Accountant, Pretoria

Introduction

A leading electrical and construction group of companies are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee project cost accounting and track job costing for multiple construction sites.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and monthly reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial alignment and compliance.
• Prepare financial statements and support external audits.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial accounting, preferably in the construction or engineering sector but not a deal breaker.
• Solid understanding of job costing, revenue recognition, and project accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills and analytical ability.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
