Role Summary Production Manager (including raw material and pest control management)

Responsibilities

Purchased raw materials are received at the agreed quality (as per grading regulations and supplier agreements) and as per company receiving procedures.

Raw material is stored in an optimal manner with zero infestation so as to be available for production when needed.

Raw material handling and storage equipment and facilities are properly maintained.

A policy of zero tolerance for all aspects of pest control is implemented for the entire site.

Milling: Accountable for ensuring that the process in the mill is managed from raw material intake, conditioning, degermination, basic maintenance and milling quality product as per agreed specification.

Grain cleaning: Accountable for ensuring that the process is managed from raw material intake, cleaning, blending, basic maintenance and quality product as per agreed specification.

Achieving all the technical value drivers as set out by the company.

Managing staff in their department and department's budgets.

Required skills

FSSC background/experience

Safety training certificates (OHS Safety Rep, First Aid, Fire Fighting, working at heights, Confined spaces) will be advantageous

Qualifications

GMF/ SAGMA Modules including the practical trade test passed

Minimum 3 years silo and warehouse management experience within the food or agricultural sector.

Pest Control Fumigation course (PCO course)

Registered pest control and fumigation certification (Valid P- registration number with DAFF).

Grain Grading Certificates: Maize, Sorghum, (Sunflower, Dry Beans, Groundnuts will be advantageous)

Forklift Driver license

Drivers Licence
