Senior Estimator (Civil Construction), Pretoria

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our clients Civil Construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.Key Responsibilities

Review and interpret tender documents, drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects (roads, bulk earthworks, pipelines, water&sewer infrastructure, stormwater, concrete works, etc.). Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing using relevant estimating software. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Assess project risks and opportunities and incorporate them into pricing. Develop preliminary construction programs and methodologies where required.Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and competitive submissions. Prepare and compile complete tender submissions in line with client requirements. Attend site visits and tender clarification meetings. Maintain an up-to-date cost database and historical pricing records.Provide handover documentation to the operations team upon successful award of projects. Experience managing multiple tenders simultaneously. Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in civil construction estimating. Proven track record in pricing large-scale civil infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, JBCC or similar).Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CCS, Candy, BuildSmart, or similar). Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Key Competencies
