Senior Design Engineer, Pretoria

Key responsibilities

Design and model mechanical equipment and full plant layouts in SolidWorks

Produce detailed fabrication, assembly and general arrangement drawings

Develop DXF files and manufacturing documentation for workshop use

Support engineers and project teams across all design phases

Compile Bills of Materials and assist with procurement‑related technical input

Provide drawing support during fabrication, installation and commissioning

Maintain drawing standards, revision control and design accuracy

Minimum requirements

Mechanical Draughting Diploma or Engineering qualification

At least 5 years’ SolidWorks design experience

Solid background in fabrication and manufacturing drawings

Strong understanding of manufacturing and workshop processes

Experience that will set you apart

Industrial plant or process equipment design

Structural steel and sheet metal design

Conveyors, material handling or ducting systems

Exposure to manufacturing or project-based environments

Software&technical exposure

SolidWorks (non‑negotiable)

AutoCAD

Large 3D assemblies and industrial layouts

SolidWorks Simulation / FEA (advantageous)
