Job Overview Pump and Abrasion Technologies (PABT) is seeking an Application Engineer (Mechanical Engineering candidates) for a permanent role in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will join the Technical Sales department, supporting sales representatives with all technical aspects of heavy‑duty slurry pump solutions. The position is based at the head office in Centurion with regular travel to client sites (typically 3‑4 days per week).

Key Responsibilities
Assist customers in selecting and specifying pumps that meet their requirements.
Compile technical reports and proposals.
Provide first‑line technical support and consulting for pump applications.
Guide customers to the appropriate product on a technical basis.
Offer on‑site assistance with product installation.
Conduct system analysis and fault finding on‑site, producing root‑cause reports.
Support sales representatives in presenting proposed solutions to clients.
Meet or exceed Customer Support quality‑assurance standards.
Requirements
B.Eng or BSc.Eng degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
0‑2 years of relevant work experience (pump‑related experience is an advantage).
Strong mechanical and/or process engineering ability.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with technical and non‑technical audiences.
Self‑starter with an energetic, driven attitude.
Valid driver’s licence.
Willingness to be away from home 3‑4 days per week.
