Job Description

We are recruiting for a Manager: Treasury Accounting on behalf of a client to oversee and drive operational accounting activities within a high-performance financial markets environment. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in complex treasury operations, enjoys leading teams, and has a strong focus on process optimisation, compliance, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing domestic and foreign exchange accounting operations. Ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements. Maintaining strong internal controls, and managing operational risk within the treasury accounting function. The role will also focus on driving process improvements, implementing new financial systems and technologies, resolving complex accounting matters, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors. In addition, the successful candidate will lead and develop a team while fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and high performance. This role requires a professional with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, sound judgement, leadership capability, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive change in a dynamic environment. 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification in Accounting or Finance, coupled with 8–10 years’ experience in Treasury or Financial Accounting. At least five years in a managerial capacity. Strong knowledge of treasury operations, financial instruments, IFRS, and operational accounting environments is essential. Experience with robotics, artificial intelligence, or other exponential technologies within an accounting environment will be highly advantageous. Candidates who are Chartered Accountants (SA) will have an added advantage. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
