A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join their growing transportation division. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of traffic and transportation engineering projects within the private sector, working alongside experienced professionals on large-scale developments and infrastructure projects. Minimum Requirements

• BEng or BSc Degree in Civil Engineering
• Honours or Master’s degree in Transportation / Traffic Engineering will be highly advantageous
• 5–10 years’ relevant experience in traffic and transportation engineering
• Experience within the private consulting engineering sector preferred
• Professional registration with ECSA preferred, however candidates actively working towards registration will also be considered
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and transportation planning
• Experience conducting traffic impact assessments and traffic studies
• Knowledge of environmental development planning and phased development planning processes highly advantageous
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, authorities, and project stakeholders
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic impact assessments, transportation studies, and traffic investigations
• Assist with road network planning, access management, and intersection analysis
• Liaise with local authorities, clients, and project teams regarding transportation-related matters
• Compile technical reports and provide engineering recommendations
• Participate in project planning, feasibility studies, and infrastructure development projects
• Support traffic signal, road safety, and traffic management initiatives
• Ensure projects are completed in accordance with industry standards and municipal requirements
• Build and maintain long-term professional relationships within the industry
