Enterprise Risk Management Specialist / Senior Risk Manager, Pretoria

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategies, frameworks, and processes within the organisation. The role requires a highly experienced professional with strong leadership, governance, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, policies, and strategies.
  
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report on organisational risks and mitigation measures.
  
• Facilitate strategic and operational risk assessments across business units.
  
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, governance frameworks, and risk management standards.
  
• Provide risk management advice and support to executive management and key stakeholders.
  
• Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, Audit Committees, and Risk Committees.
  
• Monitor emerging risks and recommend appropriate control measures.
  
• Promote a risk-aware culture throughout the organisation.
  
• Review and improve internal risk management processes and controls.
  
• Support governance, compliance, and audit-related initiatives.
  
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on risk management matters.
  
• Provide leadership and guidance on best practices in risk management.
  

RequirementsQualifications

• Relevant NQF Level 8 qualification in one of the following fields:
  • Risk Management
    
  • Finance
    
  • Auditing
    
  • Business Administration
    
• A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA, MCom, or equivalent will be advantageous.
  

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Risk Management.
  
• At least 3 years’ experience in a senior management role.
  
• Proven experience in Enterprise Risk Management within:
  • the public sector; or
    
  • large and complex organisations.
    
• Experience engaging with Boards, Audit Committees, and Risk Committees.
  

Professional Registration

• Registered member of IRMSA as a CRM Professional/Practitioner or equivalent.
