Civil Engineer, Pretoria

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum qualification required: BEng or BTech in Civil Engineering.
• Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years’ experience in bulk water, water treatment and/or wastewater treatment works.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Revit is advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with technical advancement and business development by pursuing technical excellence and maintaining quality assurance on projects.
• Undertake feasibility and planning studies for water, wastewater and treatment projects, including report compilation.
• Coordinate and manage statutory approval processes for water and wastewater projects.
• Undertake technical designs and compile reports for water, wastewater and treatment projects.
• Provide project information and assistance to support effective project management.
• Carry out measurements and valuations to produce accurate project cost estimates, schedules, quantities and valuations at various project stages.
• Compile project specifications and contract documentation for water, wastewater and treatment projects.
• Support or manage construction contracts with a focus on quality assurance for civil and mechanical installations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory procedures and technical standards, applying or implementing requirements as necessary.
• Work independently and demonstrate self-motivation, while also functioning effectively within a team environment.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships and team morale.
• Integrate and collaborate effectively with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines.
