Description
Our client, a leading and highly respected organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Oracle HCM Functional Specialist to join their team on a 12-month contract.

The successful candidate will provide functional support, configuration and enhancement services across the Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud environment, ensuring that the platform remains stable, business-aligned and effectively integrated with Oracle ERP Payroll/EBS. This role is critical in supporting post-implementation stabilisation, resolving functional issues, enabling controlled enhancements and ensuring continuity across HR and payroll processes within a regulated and compliance-driven environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate to senior Oracle HCM Functional Specialist with strong payroll domain knowledge to support business users, reduce operational risk, drive user adoption and maintain accurate, auditable and compliant HR and payroll operations.

Minimum Requirements The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Information Systems, Business Management, Organisational Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as an Oracle HCM Cloud Functional Specialist in a project and/or application support environment.
  • Experience in Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud implementation and/or support.
  • Regression testing experience across Oracle quarterly updates.
  • Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing with business users.
  • Knowledge of the full System Development Lifecycle or equivalent methodology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement experience with HR business owners and business users.
  • Ability to work within a CAB/ITIL-governed change management environment.
Advantageous Requirements
  • Active Oracle HCM Cloud certifications.
  • Oracle E-Business Suite functional experience.
  • Oracle EBS Payroll exposure.
  • Oracle Fast Formula knowledge.
  • Basic awareness of HCM integrations, data flows and touchpoints between Oracle Fusion HCM and Oracle EBS Payroll.

Scope of Services The Oracle HCM Functional Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Providing day-to-day functional support for Oracle Fusion HCM operations.
  • Supporting post-implementation stabilisation and ongoing functional enhancements.
  • Supporting payroll-related business processes, data and integrations.
  • Providing functional support for integrations between Oracle Fusion HCM and Oracle ERP Payroll/EBS.
  • Analysing, resolving and documenting functional issues.
  • Supporting users during critical HR and payroll processing cycles.
  • Collaborating with technical teams, HR stakeholders, payroll stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Translating business requirements into practical functional solutions, configurations and supporting documentation.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables The successful candidate will be required to:
  • Provide day-to-day functional support for Oracle Fusion HCM modules, including issue analysis, resolution and user support.
  • Configure and maintain HCM system setups aligned to business processes and organisational policies.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, process maps and system configurations.
  • Execute and coordinate system testing activities, including regression testing and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Support Oracle HCM quarterly releases, including defect resolution, validation and business readiness activities.
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation, including configuration documents, business requirements and process flows.
  • Manage and resolve functional defects and production issues to ensure system stability and continuity of HR operations.
  • Work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve complex functional issues and support enhancements.
  • Support critical HR and payroll processing cycles, ensuring system availability and functional accuracy during key business periods.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and user enablement activities to support adoption and internal capability building.
Quality and Governance Expectations Services must be delivered in accordance with the organisation’s governance and control standards. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that all work is:
  • Accurate, auditable and aligned to approved business processes.
  • Delivered with minimal disruption to HR and payroll operations.
  • Supported by clear documentation and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Completed professionally and within agreed timelines and priorities.
  • Managed in line with formal change management and CAB approval processes.
  • Compliant with internal governance, audit and control requirements.
Success Measures The successful candidate will be measured against the ability to:
  • Resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLA thresholds.
  • Support high-quality change requests with strong first-time approval outcomes at Change Advisory Board level.
  • Ensure all changes are logged, approved, implemented and documented in line with the organisation’s change management processes.
  • Support readiness for Oracle HCM quarterly releases through regression testing and business sign-off before production deployment.
  • Maintain up-to-date functional documentation and ensure artefacts are updated following approved changes.
  • Provide effective support to HR and payroll stakeholders, resulting in positive stakeholder feedback.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer through documented sessions, user guidance or knowledge articles.
  • Respond to audit findings within agreed timelines, supported by clear remediation actions.
  • Maintain reliable availability during contracted hours and critical HR/payroll processing cycles.
