Onsite Senior Network Engineer - Cisco ACI&DC Security, Pretoria

Summary of Role We are seeking highly skilled Senior Network Engineers to be based onsite, providing Tier 2/3 technical support and augmenting the current permanent support team. The role will primarily focus on first-line support call resolution, while also contributing to network projects, design, implementation, and operations.

The successful candidates will play a key role in managing and supporting local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and Cisco ACI data centre environments, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 2/3 network support and troubleshoot complex incidents.

Support 1st line service desk calls and ensure timely resolution.

Participate in network projects, including design, deployment, and upgrades.

Perform configuration, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure.

Manage and support Cisco ACI environments.

Assist in network security implementation and monitoring.

Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and documentation.

Perform network performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with internal teams to support business and IT objectives.

Qualifications

Matric and Tertiary Qualification

Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)– Data Centre (mandatory).

Minimum of 5 years' practical experience in a similar role.

5 years Network Management Service (Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Data Centre Security)

Wireless certification (advantageous).

Strong experience in:

Network Virtualization

Automation and Orchestration

Develop and update technical standards/guides documents

Network virtualization, Automation, Orchestration, and Data Centre Security

Proven experience in enterprise network design and operations.

Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI environments.

Network Management Tools

Cisco Prime

Cisco DNA Center (DNAC)

Cisco Nexus Dashboard
