Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and talented Finance Manager for our Agri division. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end financial management, reporting, governance, and operational finance within a chemicals and agriculture business environment. This role supports both strategic and operational decision‑making by ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, compliance, and effective businesspartnering across commercial and production teams.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting&Compliance
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
Oversee statutory reporting, tax submissions, and liaise with auditors.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, environmental levies, VAT, and corporate tax.
Maintain robust internal controls and ensure adherence to governance frameworks.
Budgeting, Forecasting&Planning
Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Provide detailed variance analysis and actionable insights to management.
Support long‑term financial planning, scenario modelling, and cash flow forecasting.
Costing&Inventory Management
Oversee product costing, absorption costing, and bill of materials accuracy.
Monitor raw material, consumable, and finished goods inventory in high‑volume production environments.
Support supply chain and production teams with cost optimisation initiatives.
Management Accounting&Performance Analysis
Drive month‑end close processes and deliver accurate management accounts.
Analyse profitability by product line, region, customer segment, and channel.
Support margin improvement and operational efficiency projects.
Commercial&Business Partnering
Partner with sales, operations, and procurement teams on pricing, tenders, and contracts.
Evaluate commercial deals, distributor agreements, and credit arrangements.
Support working capital optimisation (AR/AP, credit control, supplier terms).
Treasury&Cash Management
Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and funding requirements.
Oversee foreign exchange exposure, hedging, and currency‑related financial risks where applicable.
Governance, Controls&Risk
Strengthen financial controls in line with audit recommendations.
Maintain risk registers and ensure compliance with financial, environmental, and safety‑related reporting requirements.
Champion ethical financial practices and regulatory adherence.
Cost and Budget Management
Prepare the budget within area of control.
Manage the approved budget for area.
Prepare cost tracking and variation reports.
Make recommendations for budget‑affecting change requests.
Inform FD timeously of potential over‑spends.
Systems, Automation&Process Improvements
Drive finance process optimisation and system improvements (ERP, BI tools).
Support digitalisation initiatives, automation of reconciliations, and improved reporting dashboards.
Qualifications
Grade 12 (Matric).
Chartered Accountant– CA(SA) (preferred).
Alternatively: CIMA / SAIPA / SAICA‑designated professional with strong technical grounding.
1‑5 years post‑articles experience in finance, management accounting, auditing, or commercial finance.
Understanding of MRP and demand planning would be an advantage.
Prior Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI experience and advanced Excel would be advantageous.
Ability to complete margin analysis and build business cases for new ventures, capex acquisitions.
Exposure to manufacturing, agriculture, chemicals, FMCG, or industrial sectors preferred.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Syspro, Sage, etc.) advantageous.
Strong IFRS knowledge.
Solid management accounting and costing experience.
Strong financial modelling capability.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in fast‑paced, regulated environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
High levels of integrity and professional judgement.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
