Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Administrator&Paralegal to join our Legal Department. This is a dual-function role that combines hands-on paralegal support with legal administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the legal team to ensure the smooth running of the department and assist in managing the company's legal and compliance obligations.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or equivalent (a relevant degree will be advantageous)
Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a similar legal administrative or paralegal role
Experience within a corporate in-house legal environment is preferred
Solid understanding of South African legislation including the
Companies Act, LRA, BCEA, CPA, and POPIA
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with contract management systems will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities Paralegal Duties
Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and proofreading contracts and legal documents
Conduct legal research and summarise findings for the legal team
Support the management of litigation matters and liaise with external counsel
Assist with CCMA and Labour Court documentation and case preparation
Monitor and track regulatory and legislative developments relevant to the business
Support POPIA compliance administration and data subject request processing
Administrative Duties
Manage and maintain the contract database, ensuring accurate records and timely renewals
Handle CIPC submissions, company secretarial records, and statutory registers
Coordinate legal correspondence, diary management, and meeting scheduling
Maintain organised filing systems (electronic and physical) for all legal documentation
Process invoices from external law firms and manage legal department expenses
Provide general administrative support to the General Counsel and legal team
