Description
  • No previous experience is required; however, the candidate must be ready to begin their SAIPA articles.
  • Grade 12 with Mathematics “MUST HAVE”
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance degree complete or in progress (required for SAIPA articles) “MUST HAVE”
  • Excellent written and spoken Afrikaans communication skills is a “MUST HAVE”
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance “ADVANTAGE”
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in accounting and reconciliation tasks “ADVANTAGE”
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, and SAGE “ADVANTAGE”
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently “ADVANTAGE”
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and teamwork “MUST HAVE”
    • Commitment to pursuing the SAIPA qualification “MUST HAVE”
    Driver’s License, own transport and non-smoker “MUST HAVE”

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the Preparation of Financial Statements:
  • Support in the preparation of financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Perform Monthly Accounting and Bookkeeping Functions:
  • Process and maintain client accounting records, including capturing transactions, reconciling bank accounts, and maintaining general ledgers.
Conduct Financial Analysis:
  • Perform basic financial analysis, identify trends or discrepancies, and provide insights under supervision to superiors.
Prepare and Submit Tax Returns:
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of various tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and income tax.
Compliance with Accounting Standards and Regulations:
  • Ensure that all work complies with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and professional guidelines, including SAIPA and relevant tax legislation.
Assist with Management Accounts and Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly or periodic management accounts and supporting schedules.
Participate in Client Communication and Support:
  • Engage with clients on queries, assist in explaining financial information, and provide general accounting support.
Collaborate with Senior and Team Members:
  • Work closely with senior accountants and team members on client portfolios, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.
Maintain Accurate and Up-to-Date Financial Records:
  • Ensure that all client financial records are properly maintained, organized, and up to date to support efficient reporting and compliance.
