Job Description: Structural Draughtsman
Location: Lynnwood, Pretoria East
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Position Overview An established professional engineering consultancy is seeking a motivated Structural Draughtsman to join its technical team in Pretoria East. The successful candidate will support structural engineering projects through the preparation of accurate technical drawings and detailing for a wide range of developments, including industrial, commercial, warehousing, office and residential projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Draughting Certification (minimum requirement)
• Diploma or BTech in Draughting / Structural Engineering / Civil Engineering highly advantageous
• 0–5 years’ experience in structural draughting
• Exposure to structural drafting within consulting engineering or construction environments advantageous
• Experience working on projects such as:
  • Warehousing / distribution centres
  • Industrial developments
  • Office developments
  • Residential developments
  • Commercial / retail projects

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Tekla Structures preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit will be considered
• Knowledge of structural steel detailing advantageous
• Experience with reinforced concrete detailing advantageous
• Understanding of structural drafting standards and detailing principles
• Ability to interpret engineering designs and convert them into detailed technical drawings

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate structural drawings and detailing for engineering projects
• Prepare steel and reinforced concrete detailing drawings
• Develop general arrangement drawings, fabrication details and construction documentation
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering mark-ups and design changes
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and industry drafting standards
• Collaborate closely with structural engineers and technical teams
• Assist with drawing coordination across multidisciplinary project requirements
• Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency and version control
• Support project delivery within required timelines
