Laboratory Manager, Somerset West

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a B.Sc. degree in Microbiology, Plant Pathology or related.
• An additional qualification in Management skills would be preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience within a commercial laboratory is essential.
• Management or supervisory experience will be advantageous.
• Must have strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is important for this role.
• Must be analytical with good report writing skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning, executing and supervising the production of specialised agricultural products.
• Panning and implementing quality control of various microbial products.
• Communicating and allocating resources between various departments and ensuring effective teamwork.
• Overseeing the processing of labels, product documentation and various data libraries run by the Laboratory Assistant.
• Coordinating client services and reporting.
• Ensuring budgets are adhered to.
• Ensuring effective housekeeping of laboratories in accordance with cleaning schedules.
• Facilitating Planned Job Observations for all laboratories.
