This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, stakeholder management, and project governance expertise. You will oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with organisational standards, budgets, timelines, and strategic objectives.
Key Purpose of the Role To manage and deliver ICT projects by defining scope, developing project plans, allocating resources, and ensuring successful execution within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The role ensures adherence to internal governance frameworks and alignment with business strategy while driving continuous improvement and innovation within the ICT environment.
Key Responsibilities Project Management
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent ICT projects
Define scope, objectives, risks, dependencies, and governance structures
Coordinate cross-functional teams including analysts, developers, and technical staff
Ensure delivery against time, cost, and quality expectations
Manage project documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication
Oversee vendor engagement, RFQs/RFPs, and service provider selection
Apply structured methodologies including RACI and project governance frameworks
Business&Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with business stakeholders to define and refine requirements
Translate business needs into clear technical deliverables
Conduct regular service review meetings with business units
Manage escalations and lead problem management processes
Negotiate and maintain SLAs and OLAs with stakeholders
Provide monthly reporting on project status, risks, and delivery outcomes
Financial Management
Develop and manage project budgets and financial forecasts
Ensure projects remain within approved budget parameters (±5% variance)
Track and control project expenditure
Manage out-of-scope work through formal approval processes
Ensure financial governance and compliance on all project spending
Team&Resource Management
Assign tasks and manage workloads across project teams
Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning
Drive succession planning and capability development
Ensure onboarding and training of new team members
Facilitate regular team progress and compliance reviews
Governance, Reporting&Continuous Improvement
Ensure adherence to IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, internal standards)
Monitor service delivery performance, trends, and quality metrics
Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
Contribute to ICT strategy and innovation initiatives
Ensure documentation of processes, procedures, and standards
Minimum Requirements Education
ICT Diploma or related qualification
Project Management Certification (PMP / PRINCE2 / PMBOK or equivalent)
ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
Experience
1+ year in Business Analysis
1+ year in Project Administration
3+ years in Service Desk or Customer Service Management
3+ years in System Administration
3–5 years in a senior supervisory or ICT management capacity
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s licence (essential)
Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology / Information Systems / Informatics (NQF 7)
ITIL Practitioner certification
Advanced Project Management certification (PMP / PRINCE2 Practitioner)
