Our client is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead the Mechanical Projects Department in Richard’s Bay. This pivotal role will suit an accomplished leader with a track record of driving commercial, operational, and team success in the contracting or mechanical installation sector.
Minimum Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
Tertiary qualification required (preferably technical or engineering-related)
Previous management of teams of 20 or more
Strong background in contracting and mechanical projects
Advanced Excel
Proven ability to meet income targets and manage department expenses
Extensive people management expertise, including recruitment and team development
Must be from Richard's Bay
Only South African citizens to apply

Key Responsibilities Operations&Team Leadership
Build, inspire, and lead a skilled team; identify and develop talent and handle performance reviews
Maintain discipline and staff motivation
Ensure healthy contractor and subcontractor relationships to meet project needs
Financial Performance&Cost Control
Oversee departmental budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profit
Obtain and compare supplier quotes, authorize spending, and manage supplier records
Accurately process invoices and maintain fiscal discipline
Income&Sales Management
Monitor and control revenue streams for the branch, producing competitive costings
Develop and strengthen client relationships to secure repeat and new business
Actively pursue business opportunities across industry channels
Project&Asset Management
Supervise project lifecycles: from site assessments and quotations, through completion and post-job analysis
Manage assets, machinery, and tools; ensure regular checks and compliance with all regulations
Safety&Compliance
Uphold the highest safety standards in all branch operations and on job sites
Ensure compliance with company policies, OHSACT, and client requirements
Reporting&KPIs
Drive asset utilisation, aiming for high operational efficiency
Meet targets for customer satisfaction, departmental profitability, and team development
Foster transparent teamwork and continuous improvement
