Construction Contracts Manager, Johannesburg

Construction contracts managers oversee projects from startup to hand over, ensuring that work is completed on time and within its budget. As a contracts manager, you will be working on a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities

• Monthly MS Project update with contractor's report
• Weekly Trade Date Program update on Excel and to be communicated with sub-contractors
• Cost Reports/ Budgets to Directors – monthly
• Weekly tracking of liabilities in line with cost report
• Progress Certificates to client – monthly
• Progress Certificate for subcontractors – monthly
• Meetings with Site Staff – daily, weekly
• Meetings with Sub contractors - daily, weekly
• Monthly Progress Certificate to client for invoicing

Key performance areas :

• The planning, management, coordination, and financial control of a construction project for which he/she is assigned to.
• Managing and leading subordinates.
• Negotiation with client, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.
• Develop and deliver cost reports, progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Qualifications

SACPCMP registration is preferable.

10 - 15 years Contract Management experience.

Construction software knowledge:

• M.S Projects or similar ( CCS or Primavera)
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Word
• Buildsmart software knowledge is highly advantageous
• CCS Experience would be very beneficial
