Financial Manager, Johannesburg

Key responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee the production of the monthly and annual management accounts
• Oversee the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and sign them off
• Present monthly financials and dashboards to Operations and Management Committees
• Provide oversight on Accounting and Tax technical issues.
• Tracking of Financial KPIs against actual performance

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Responsible for the annual budgeting process and ensures that budgets are signed off,
• Monitors variances and produces monthly revised forecasts
• Signing off on all Capital Expenditure plans and ensuring that these are in line with asset requirements and depreciation

Costing and Pricing

• Develop and implement processes to determine accurate direct and indirect costing for all products
• Develop and implement processes to account and optimise for major impacts to costing and pricing, including foreign exchange and supply chain
• Ensure that pricing across all products is effective and sustainable

Commercial

• Provide oversight on the process that prices and negotiates projects and contracts
• Ensure that contracts and projects are financially and commercially sound and optimised, especially in terms of cash flow requirements 

Finance Operations

• Manage and lead processes that accurately capture financial transactions, including debtors, creditors, bank reconciliations and inventory management.

Capital Raising

•  Lead the process to develop financial models that are used to present forecasts to financiers for the purposes of raising capital for the business
• Ensure that the capital that is raised is appropriate to the business and is optimised

Lead the financial discussions that determine terms and conditions for funding

Compliance

• Ensure that the business meets all its regulatory and compliance requirements, including the timely filing of returns such as VA and income tax.

Qualifications and Experience

• Financial Management generalist experience, including reporting and compliance
• Degree plus recognised professional accounting qualification 
• 6+ Years post qualification experience management 
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams
