SALES OPERATIONS MANAGER

Our client a well-established insurance giant, whom are based in the Eastrand is looking for a SALES OPERATIONS MANAGER, the candidate will be in charge of operations–and administrative support functions–for the Sales Consultants and Portfolio Managers so that they may prioritize the achievement of sales targets. This role is therefore responsible for the management and control of all internal operations and administrative related functions

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design efficient workflow structures, incorporating internal standard operating procedures (SOP's),sound risk management practices, internal standards of quality and service excellence, as well as agreed turn-around times
  • Lead a team of 13subordinatesincluding an Assistant Manager
  • Checking of new Commercial business against client instruction, department SOP's, and agreed Treaty Limits
  • Activating new Commercial Insurance policies
  • ADHOC activations on personal lines
  • Oversight of all Personal Lines sales administrative functions
  • Management of unpaid premiums, cancellations, reissue, wording, and annexure reports for Commercial. Backup for personal lines
  • Monthly, quarterly and YTD sales statistics (new sales-all products, and commission reports)
  • Quality Assurance Audit reports
  • System testing when changes are implemented
  • Create new reports for the Sales Administrative duties for sales department Sales Register and SharePoint
  • Create Manuals for department processes and functions. Update Sales department SOP's for commercial lines
  • Efficiencies and processes. Cerul commercial quoting priority
  • Department efficiencies, including system development/ enhancement projects
  • Employee management
  • Unpacking strategy and supporting sales team.
  • Supporting HOD in terms of achieving key company strategy and goals.
  • Broker cancellations. Oversee new agency process. Oversee current structure Enhanced reporting

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Matric
  • NQF 4 or higher certificate in Short-Term Insurance
  • RE 5 (Representative Exam)
  • Must provide evidence of FAIS Fit & Proper status (DOFA)
  • Related BCOM degree–highly advantageous
  • Further training or qualification in Management or Leadership–highly advantageous
  • Must be able to lead a team
  • Sound/Specialist Product knowledge and application in respect Personal and Commercial Lines classes of business
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience within the Short-Term Insurance Sales sphere
  • At least 5 years related experience in a Managerial/ supervisory capacity, with specific focus on operations management and employee management
  • Experience dealing with Brokers, including brokers with Binder/Outsource Agreements
  • Knowledge and understanding of current market trends within the industry, external factors that could impact the business, as well as a sound understanding of competitor product offerings

The salary package is negotiable and all dependent on the candidate's qualifications and experience
