Senior Software Architect – hybrid

Our client who functions in the Product Development space is looking for a Senior Software Architect to join their team and fulfil a very important role.

The successful candidate must have experience in a Product Development / Solutions environment and not just an off-the-shelve environment.

The role is based in Bryanston and will need a lot of onsite presence in the beginning but will eventually be hybrid.

PROFILE SUMMARY

Performing a lead role in the design, development and sustainable software engineering of product solutions while playing a key role in bridging communication between the development teams and business requirements.

Minimum number of years' experience

• Software development: 15y
• Tech leadership: 10y
• Tech design authority: 5y

Significant to expert knowledge of

• Common Operating Systems, most notably, Microsoft's Windows Server
• Databases, most notable Microsoft's SQL Server
• Web servers, most notably Microsoft IIS
• Mobile applications (native, PWA)
• Information Security
• Software Design Patterns
• Software Development Tools
• Software Build and Deployment Processes and Tools
• Test Tools
• Network theories, setup and configuration (OS, firewall, DNS, DC)
• Hardware infrastructure: Setup and Configuration
• Cloud infrastructure, most notably Microsoft Azure
• Agile development methodology, notably SCRUM
• Product Development methodology

SKILLS

DUTIES

You will be expected to

• Assist with the initial technical investigations required for quotes and proposals, working closely with

the Strategic Account Managers and Solutions Architects

• Define technical requirements for a solutions by working closely with internal partners and

understanding client/marker needs

• Design systems, products or solutions
• Develop code but mainly to enforce standards for the development team with regards to maintainability,

scalability, performance, user-experience and security

• Review technical designs of other members within the development team,

advising on possible alternatives and coaching were appropriate

• Mentor members of the development team
• In collaboration with the Product Management team, size/estimate and prioritise development tasks
