Ensure that SOPs in your area of responsibility are adhered to as well as kept up to date Process supplier/creditor accounts and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data Capturing bank account payments ensuring reconciliation to the bank on a daily basis Prepare bills for payment and review Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to supplier statements on a monthly basis Verify discrepancies and resolving billing issues Facilitate timeous payments of supplier bills due and following up on outstanding purchase orders Complete credit account applications for all divisions of the business

 

What you'll need

Tertiary Education – BCom accounting or similar. Proven working experience as a creditors clerk. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles. Data entry skills. Good working knowledge of MS office software packages. Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills. Customer/Supplier service orientation and negotiation skills. Time management skills The ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills. Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
