Senior Accountant, Roodepoort

Location: Roodepoort, Johannesburg

Role Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Qualified Senior Accounting to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting functions, supervising trainee accountants, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic financial reporting and planning. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience working within an accounting or tax practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain financial statements

Perform review and compilation reporting

Conduct detailed financial analysis and reporting

Oversee and mentor trainee accountants

Review and process journal entries

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and financial regulations

Collaborate with internal departments to support accurate financial reporting

Assist with strategic planning and financial management

Support continuous improvement within accounting processes

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Certified/Registered Accountant designation or equivalent

Minimum 3 years’ Accounting/Auditing experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Audit Software

Previous experience within an accounting or tax practice servicing multiple clients

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience with accounting software

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Candidates with experience managing or mentoring junior accounting staff or trainee accountants will be highly advantageous.
