Deputy Principal (Operations and Discipline) (Senior and FET Phases) We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Principal (Operations and Discipline) (Senior and FET Phases), a highly organised, systems‑driven, and values‑led leader who will ensure the College runs safely, smoothly, and with purpose, enabling both academic excellence and a strong culture of accountability and care.

Key Purpose The Deputy Principal (Operations and Discipline) provides strategic and operational leadership across the College, ensuring that all systems, structures, and processes support effective teaching, meaningful learning, and student wellbeing. This role integrates operational excellence with student discipline, ensuring that the environment is structured, safe, and aligned with Crawford values. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of IEB curriculum, alongside a commitment to holistic student development and future readiness.

Operational Leadership and College Functionality

Lead the operational effectiveness of the College, ensuring that teaching, learning, and community activities run efficiently and without disruption

Oversee facilities, campus management, and service delivery to maintain a safe, well‑functioning environment

Ensure clear systems, processes, and accountability across all operational domains

Governance, Compliance, and Policy

Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, contracts, and legislation

Maintain operational risk registers and compliance calendars

Ensure readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements

Support the implementation of the Code of Conduct within operational contexts

Health, Safety, and Risk (OHS)

Lead and monitor all health and safety practices, including risk assessments, emergency procedures, and drills

Promote a proactive culture of safety across the College

Ensure contractor compliance and safe systems of work

Facilities, Campus, and Asset Management

Oversee maintenance, cleaning, grounds, and security operations

Monitor service levels and ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues

Maintain asset registers and oversee responsible resource utilisation

Events and Operational Delivery

Lead the planning and execution of all major College events

Ensure seamless logistical coordination for academic, cultural, and sporting activities

Evaluate events and implement continuous improvement strategies

Student Discipline and Conduct

Lead and manage student discipline in alignment with the College’s Code of Conduct

Administer disciplinary processes and hearings with fairness, consistency, and integrity

Work collaboratively with pastoral and academic leaders to support student growth and accountability

Balance firm boundaries with restorative, developmental approaches

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

Ensure clear, timely, and professional communication with staff, students, and parents

Support alignment across academic, pastoral, and operational teams

Serve as a visible and trusted leader within the College community

Data, Systems, and Continuous Improvement

Monitor operational metrics and use data to inform decision‑making

Drive efficiencies and improve systems to enhance the staff and student experience

Budgeting, Procurement, and Vendor Management

Manage operational budgets responsibly and ensure value for money

Oversee procurement processes and supplier performance

Maintain strong relationships with contractors and service providers

Transport, Security, and Access

Oversee campus security, access control, and visitor management

Ensure safe and well‑coordinated transport logistics for all school activities

Staff Leadership and Development

Lead and support operational teams to deliver high standards of service

Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth

Key Deliverables

Operational readiness plans and duty rosters delivered on time

Full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements

High‑performing facilities and operational services

Clear and consistent communication across the College

Effective and fair student discipline processes

Strong budget management and vendor performance

Qualifications and Experience

A relevant degree (NQF Level 7) and

PGCE or B.Ed (FET)

5–10 years’ teaching experience, including specialist subject teaching

Proven experience within an

IEB school environment

Experience teaching

English in the FET Phase (Grades 10–12)

will be advantageous

Experience as an

IEB marker for English

would be advantageous

SACE registration

and a valid

police clearance

are required
