An exciting opportunity has become available for a Millwright Apprentice to join our team, specializing in value-added meat products.

As an Millwright Apprentice, you will receive structured on-the-job training and technical exposure to develop skills in both mechanical and electrical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of production machinery and equipment
Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Participate in preventative and planned maintenance programs
Diagnose faults and help implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety, food safety, and quality standards
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment performance
Work closely with artisans and production teams to support operational efficiency
Keep work areas clean and adhere to housekeeping standards (5S principles)
Continuously learn and apply knowledge gained through the apprenticeship programme.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12/ Matric with Mathematics
N2 Certificate (or higher) in Engineering Studies (Millwright / Electrical / Mechanical trade theory)
Strong interest in pursuing a Millwright trade qualification
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (advantageous)
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
