The Chief Growth Officer is responsible for providing strategic, executive leadership to drive the JSE’s overall commercial growth. This includes expanding technology-enabled capabilities and adjacent data and information services, while leading the organisation’s inorganic growth agenda through mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.The role oversees the design, execution and optimisation of enterprise growth, revenue, and market development strategies, including the integration and monetisation of technology ecosystems.As an Executive Director of JSE Limited and member of the Group Executive Committee, the incumbent plays a critical role in shaping organisational strategy, driving commercial performance, and delivering sustainable shareholder value.Define and lead the JSE’s long-term growth strategy, driving sustainable revenue, profitability, and shareholder value Own enterprise-level commercial performance, including revenue expansion and P&L outcomes Identify and unlock new revenue streams across products, services, data, and technology platforms M&A&Strategic Expansion Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships Drive inorganic growth aligned to the JSE’s technology and information services value chain Oversee deal structuring, negotiation, and integration, ensuring long-term value realisationBuild and maintain senior relationships with regulators, investors, global exchange peers, and industry stakeholders Represent the JSE as a thought leader and market ambassador across public, industry, and global platforms Influence strategic outcomes in a highly regulated, multi-stakeholder environmentLead the development and monetisation of technology ecosystems, digital platforms, and data-driven solutions Drive innovation and agile transformation, ensuring competitive positioning in global markets Champion a culture of commercial thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement Lead and develop a high-performing executive team, building a strong leadership pipelineEmbed a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and alignment to JSE values Contribute to enterprise strategy through active participation at Board and Exco level Experience Minimum 15 years’ senior experience within the financial services industry, preferably capital markets, or in comparably regulated, large‑scale industries such as telecommunications, data, information services, or platform‑based businesses.At least 6 years’ experience at executive leadership level, with regular engagement at Board and Group Exco level. Demonstrated accountability for divisional or enterprise‑wide commercial or growth strategy, including profit and loss responsibility. Proven track record of driving revenue growth, profitability, and shareholder value.Extensive experience operating within regulated, governance‑driven, and multi‑stakeholder environments, including engagement with regulators and industry bodies. Demonstrated executive leadership capability with the credibility and influence to operate effectively at board, industry, and regulatory level.Qualifications Honours degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant Master’s degree (advantageous). Knowledge, Skills&Capabilities Strategic leadership, long‑term planning, and enterprise decision‑making Commercial, financial, and business acumen, including P&L and capital allocation Growth strategy, market development, and M&A execution Governance, risk, regulatory and compliance management Stakeholder, client, and market engagement at executive level People leadership, talent development, and performance management Change leadership, innovation, and transformation delivery Strong communication skills, including presenting complex information to Boards and senior stakeholders
