About the role We are seeking a passionate and proactive Frontend Developer Intern to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work alongside experienced developers on exciting projects, contributing to real‑world applications while honing your technical and professional skills. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in modern frontend development, including coding, debugging, testing, and collaborating in a team environment.

Responsibilities

As a Frontend Developer Intern, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Writing clean, efficient, and well‑documented code using CSS and React.

Debugging and testing frontend components to ensure optimal performance.

Supporting ongoing development projects and meeting project deadlines.

Collaborating with backend developers and other team members to deliver seamless solutions.

Maintaining and improving project repositories using GitHub.

Gaining familiarity with AWS services and supporting AWS‑based projects.

Participating in technical discussions and contributing innovative ideas.

Preparing for and engaging in technical assessments and interviews.

Requirements

South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.

Must not have participated on the YES Programme before.

Enrolled in or completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proficiency in CSS and React.

Basic understanding of AWS services (preferred) or willingness to obtain AWS certification during the internship.

Experience with version control systems such as GitHub.

Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to teamwork.

Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic team environment.
