Grout Plant Chargehand - Lead Underground Operations, Soweto

Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Chargehand Grout Plant (No B/Cert) to be placed in Swartklip, Spud Shaft, near Northam, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Supervisor Grout Plant. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

Responsibilities

Effective planning, leading, organising and control of the grouting operations under his/her control to achieve daily production and safety targets

Effective supervision of the underground team in line with standards, procedures and safety protocols

Conduct and participate in morning meetings and complete the relevant checklists, risk/safety documents as required

Verify ranges and hoses are in order before pumping operations start

Conduct over inspection of pumping operations to ensure packs are installed and pumped to standard

Effective and timely communication to relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth workflows pertaining to grout production and plant operations

Compliance with SHEQ, Cementation Africa and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols

Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team

Effective self and team supervision in alignment with Cementation Africa values and leadership initiatives

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent

Numeracy at NQF Level 4

Grout Plant Operator Technical Skills Certificate or similar

License to Supervise or similar supervisory course

Good English verbal and written communication skills

Successfully complete the related MRTA training courses

Experience

At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader or leaner chargehand in a Grout Plant in a mining environment

Experience in maintenance of MK5 pneumatic and hydraulic pumps required

Knowledge of Grout Plant operations, equipment and methods
