Job Overview Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for its store in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape. This is a permanent, full‑time position focused on providing pharmaceutical care and supporting the dispensary team.

Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines.
Compounding, manipulation and preparation of non‑sterile medicines according to SOPs.
Re‑packaging and distribution of medicines from Schedule 1 to Schedule 5.
Processing prescriptions, verifying patient details and ensuring accurate labelling.
Providing counsel to patients on medication use and medical aid costs.
Maintaining stock control, conducting stock takes and reporting low stock.
Ensuring all dispensing activities are signed off by a registered pharmacist.
Requirements Minimum qualifications and criteria:
Grade 12 / Matric.
Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
Ability to work retail hours and stand for long periods.
South African citizenship and a valid driver’s licence.
Clear credit and criminal records.
Advantageous but not mandatory:
Experience in retail/FMCG environments.
Familiarity with Unisolv, SAP or e‑scripting systems.
Oncology or family‑planning medication knowledge.
Proficiency in a third language.
