Description
Job Summary The position of Assistant Accountant provides support to the Finance Department in various accounting activities.

Job Responsibilities

Receive and process invoices for payment;

Allocate payments received to patients' accounts;

Record bank statements;

Maintain the chart of accounts and general ledger;

Prepare monthly management reports;

Maintain petty cash records;

Liaise with external auditors;

Process employees' expense claims;

Maintain debtors' and creditors' lists;

Reconcile intercompany transactions;

Prepare and send statements to patients whose accounts are overdue;

Send letters to doctors whose services have not been paid for;

Prepare summaries of costs for patients' insurance companies;

File all documents according to regulations.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent;

Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;

Experience in an administrative role within a medical facility will be advantageous;

Knowledge of medical terminology will be advantageous;

Good communication skills (oral and written);

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

Computer literacy (MS Office applications) and proficiency in MS Excel (pivots, V-lookups, IF formulae, etc.), SAP, SAGE, MS Office suite

Strong organizational skills;

Attention to detail;

Honesty and integrity.
