Job Overview Clinix Health Group (Pty) Ltd is hiring a Unit Manager– Neonatal (NICU) for its Tshepo Themba Private Hospital in Dobsonville, Soweto. The role is permanent and reports to the Nursing Services Manager. You will oversee the neonatal unit, manage staff, ensure quality patient care, and handle the unit budget.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise and monitor the unit’s daily operations.

Manage round‑the‑clock care for premature and critically ill newborns.

Oversee medical procedures such as IV insertion, testing and medication administration.

Supervise ward clerks, RNs, ENs and ENAs, driving service optimisation.

Analyse patient feedback and implement improvement initiatives.

Provide emotional support to parents and families of infants.

Conduct on‑the‑job training, coaching and mentoring for nursing staff.

Ensure accurate recording of medical consumables for billing.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care.

Requirements

BCur in General Nursing.

Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Current Clinical Nursing Science– Neonatal Nursing Science.

Qualification in Nursing Administration.

Minimum 3 years’ managerial/supervisory experience.

Experience in neonatal nursing care.

Experience in a private hospital environment is advantageous.
