About the job

As the Regional Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and governing Smollan’s regional internal communications strategy. Your role will ensure consistent, engaging, and brand-compliant messaging that aligns employees with business priorities and enhances the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the internal communications strategy for South Africa, aligned with global frameworks and values.

Localize and execute global communication campaigns to ensure relevance for the regional audience.

Ensure all internal communications align with Smollan's brand strategy and corporate identity.

Draft, edit, and distribute internal communications, including leadership messages, functional updates, and culture initiatives.

Manage internal communication channels such as the intranet, Google Spaces, email, and digital screens.

Coordinate internal employee events, including town halls and cultural activations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives through metrics and analytics.

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma or Degree/NQF Level 6 or 7 in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business Administration.

8-10 years’ experience in Marketing and/or Communications with multinational organizations or international work experience, preferably in a B2B environment.

Key Skills

Deep understanding of internal communications and employee engagement principles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project and change communication experience.

Knowledge of corporate brand identity and design compliance.

Stakeholder management and influencing capability.

Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
