Description
Provide an effective and efficient link between ASI Financial Services (ASI) and its clients, including members and appointed representatives through the delivery of advice, query resolution, administrative support, communication, training, and education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES CONSULTING
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Employee Benefits industry, including medical schemes, retirement funds, group risk, employee wellness programmes, and expatriate health benefits.
Conduct detailed analyses of members’ financial needs and provide suitable advice, ensuring records are saved on the CRM and shared with the member.
Ensure members understand the benefits, exclusions, and administrative processes of their relevant schemes or funds.
Advise members exiting employment on their available options— such as continuations, transfers, preservation options, and tax implications — and refer them to an authorised financial planner where necessary.
Engage with members who have low investment levels to encourage contribution increases or changes in investment strategy.
Conduct and arrange on-site member assist sessions, inductions, and training sessions, ensuring meeting notes are distributed.
Assist with outstanding requirements for new business applications when unresolved by the AC department after three attempts.
Support year-end review presentations or activities during open window periods as required.
ADMINISTRATION AND QUERY MANAGEMENT
Address and resolve member and employer queries, escalating complex matters to the senior consultant promptly.
Save all client communication on the internal drive and maintain accurate records of training attendance, on-site sessions, queries, and option change forms.
Prepare trustee and committee meeting packs, and record and distribute meeting notes.
Request necessary data or information from schemes and funds to support ongoing projects.
Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and conducting membership compliance audits.
Provide HR and Payroll teams with monthly dashboard reports and activity summaries relevant to this role.
Offer day-to-day assistance with general queries and updates on member claims.
Submit withdrawal, funeral, death, and disability claims for processing.
Design member newsletters featuring fund information.
Dispatch benefit statements to members.
Prepare member booklets, presentations, and fund summary reports for employer groups.
Assist HR with updated claim forms as needed.
Maintain governance by ensuring all fund documentation is correctly saved on the internal drive.

Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with clients.
Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism, including punctuality, formal dress code, and professional communication.
Comply with the FAIS code of conduct.
Follow ASI’s Style Guide, ensuring all external communication is peer-reviewed.

Keep workstations neat, organised, and tidy.
Collaborate effectively with team members and provide support when required.
Uphold and role‑model ASI’s core values.
Remain available to clients telephonically and respond promptly to missed calls.
CROSS-SELLING
Promote additional products such as Vitality and Gap Cover to enhance members’ overall benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCY AND EXPERIENCE
Matric and FAIS Fit&Proper compliant (NQF Level 5, Regulatory Exams), with a commitment to continuous learning.
Proficient in MS Office; strong command of English (a second language is advantageous).
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in medical insurance.
Experience in employee benefits is advantageous.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to go the extra mile.
Ability to work independently and manage oneself effectively.
