Requirements

Senior certificate/ Grade 12. A qualification that allows registration with SANC as staff nurse.

Grade 2: Qualification that allows registration with SANC as a staff nurse.

A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.

Grade 3: minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as staff nurse.

Other Skills: Candidate must have basic communication and writing skills and be able to function as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Duties

Provide basic clinical nursing care in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards.

Implementation and development of basic patient care plans to provide quality patient care.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and ethical framework, acts, policies, SOPs, guidelines and protocols governing the public service.

Demonstrate basic knowledge of ideal hospital realisation and maintenance.

Effective utilisation of resources, maintenance of proper and accurate record keeping.

Demonstrate basic communication with patients, supervisors and colleagues.

Willing to rotate through department and work night duty.

Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and support the managers to ensure quality nursing care.
