Excavator Operator, Earthmoving Trainee A Team Earthmoving QLD Browns Plains, Brisbane QLD Plant and Machinery Operators (Construction) Full time 35 to 48 per hour Low application volume ABOUT US A Team Earthmoving is a family-owned Brisbane earthmoving business specializing in residential excavation — pool excavation, screw pier installation, site cuts, and drainage. We've been operating since 1988 and we're known for quality work and looking after our crew. We run modern equipment (1-14 tonne excavators, bobcats, tip trucks, mini dumpers) and we work with Brisbane's best pool builders and residential developers. THE ROLE We need reliable operators (or people willing to learn) for our residential earthmoving fleet. What you'll do: Excavate residential pools Install screw piers Site cuts and pad preparation for new houses Drainage and services installation Bobcat and truck work This is NOT boring commercial earthworks. Every job is different — tight backyards, challenging access, precision work. You'll use your skills every day. Who we're looking for We don't need 10 years of experience. We need people who: - Have a manual driver's license (essential — you'll drive trucks and tippers) - Are mechanically minded (you understand how machines work) - Can work independently once trained (we're not babysitters) - Have outdoor work experience (landscaping, concreting, construction, agriculture — we can teach you excavators) - Live Brisbane southside or can travel to Browns Plains daily - Want to learn a skilled trade and build a career (not just a job) Bonus points if you: Have operated machinery before (even just a ride-on mower or forklift) Have earthmoving, landscaping, or civil construction background Have your own ute/transport Have HR, MR, or excavator tickets already (but not required) What We Offer Competitive pay: 35 to 45/hr depending on experience Training: We'll upskill you — excavator tickets, truck licenses, screw pier techniques Modern equipment: Well-maintained fleet, you won't be fighting broken machines Steady work: Residential market is strong — full order book Great crew: Small team, no corporate BS, family business culture Career path: Start as a labourer/trainee → ticket operator → senior operator → leading hand DO NOT send a generic resume.
