Description
Proven experience in a warehouse management role or similar position. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain processes. Ability to analyse data and implement process improvements. Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control software. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new programs quickly.Excellent leadership, organisational, problem-solving, and numerical skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. No criminal record. Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in logistics or warehouse management. Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storing, inventory control, order fulfilment, and dispatching. Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Monitor and maintain warehouse performance metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, turnaround time, and inventory levels.Analyse data to identify trends and recommend improvements to operations. Staff Management:
Train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff. Manage and produce regular reports on staff performance. Action disciplinary procedures against staff who breach company regulations. Foster a positive and safe work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement. Inventory Control:
Ensure accurate inventory tracking through regular cycle counts and audits. Co-ordinate with purchasing and production teams to manage stock levels and address discrepancies. Manage processes to reduce stock loss and optimise inventory turnover. Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding order fulfilment, delivery schedules, and stock availability.Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers on order status, delays, and any issues affecting deliveries. Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring swift resolution of any issues related to warehouse operations. Logistics and Coordination:
Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless inbound and outbound logistics. Plan and co-ordinate transportation requirements to meet delivery deadlines. Resolve any issues related to shipping, delivery, or logistics promptly. Safety and Compliance:
Enforce health and safety standards in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely, scheduling repairs or replacements as needed. Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and the working environment is organised.
