IT Officer / IT Support Specialist, Springs

My Client is seeking a skilled and hands-on IT Officer / IT Support Specialist to join our fast-paced operational environment within the meat processing industry.

This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who thrives under pressure and can ensure the smooth operation of critical IT systems across both production and office environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, supporting users, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring minimal operational downtime within a 24/7 production environment.

Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Helpdesk

• Provide first- and second-line IT support across operational and administrative departments
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, printer, and email issues
• Install and maintain desktops, laptops, barcode scanners, mobile devices, and peripherals
• Assist users with Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, and operational systems
• Liaise with third-party service providers and manage support tickets

Network & Systems Administration

• Maintain LAN, wireless networks, and internet connectivity
• Install and crimp network cabling (RJ45, shielded RJ45, keystones, etc.)
• Support systems development where programming and operational knowledge are required

Infrastructure & Operational Support

• Perform routine maintenance and system updates
• Support printers, biometric systems, CCTV, VoIP, and access control systems
• Monitor system performance and identify recurring technical issues
• Assist with IT asset management and procurement
• Supervise and monitor IT personnel where required

Security & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures
• Assist with data security and confidentiality measures
• Identify and report risks or system vulnerabilities
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery processes

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 5 to 8 years’ experience in IT support or IT administration
• Strong MS SQL Server skills including query writing and database maintenance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments
• Knowledge of networking, routers, switches, and wireless systems
• Valid driver’s licence

Advantageous Skills & Experience

• Programming knowledge in VBA, C#, ASP.NET, Python, or similar
• CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certifications
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, warehouse, production, or abattoir environments
• Exposure to cybersecurity principles and remote support tools
• Knowledge of CCTV, VoIP, biometric systems, and access control systems
• Strong accounting or actuarial background
