Cloud Engineer II, Stellenbosch

Build the foundations that everything else runs on We are growing our cloud platform and need a skilled Cloud Engineer to help us design, build and protect the core infrastructure that our digital services rely on. This role exists to ensure our cloud environment is resilient, secure and ready to scale as our business grows locally and internationally.

What you’ll do

Design and build reliable cloud infrastructure that teams across the business depend on

Maintain and improve our cloud networking, security and connectivity

Support major initiatives by providing deep technical guidance and hands‑on delivery

Identify risks early and put practical solutions in place before they impact our clients

Work closely with engineers and architects to enable safe, efficient delivery

Continuously improve how we build and manage cloud environments

The team you’ll be part of You’ll join our Cloud Core Engineering team, a specialist group of around eight engineers who look after the base cloud infrastructure used across the organisation. We create the foundations that allow product and engineering teams to build and move fast, safely. Our work underpins critical systems used by millions of clients every day.

What we’re looking for

Solid experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS

Strong networking knowledge across cloud and traditional environments

Experience designing secure, scalable infrastructure

Familiarity with automation, pipelines and modern delivery practices

The ability to work well in a team and also take ownership of your own work

A curious mindset and willingness to keep learning as technology changes

Relevant cloud or networking certifications are an advantage

Education (Minimum)

Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology - Computer Science
