Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to join the Coega, Port Elizabeth team,
Responsibilities
Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
Ensure optimal use of freezer space and efficient stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO principles).
Maintain cold chain integrity at all times.
Oversee stock control processes, including cycle counts and full stocktakes.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Ensure accurate record‑keeping using warehouse management systems (WMS).
Ensure compliance with South African food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
Monitor and maintain required temperature ranges for frozen goods.
Implement and enforce hygiene and sanitation standards.
Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff.
Manage staff scheduling, performance, and discipline.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe operation of equipment (e.g., forklifts in cold environments).
Coordinate dispatch schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
Liaise with transport providers and internal departments.
Optimize workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management– advantageous.
Minimum 5–8 years’s warehouse experience.
At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Proven experience in a frozen food or cold storage environment– essential.
Strong knowledge of cold chain management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
Candidate must reside in the Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage area.
