If so, we invite you to apply for the Occupational Therapy (Half-day) position at Nurture Beacon Bay.
ABOUT THE ROLE As the Occupational Therapist, you will focus on hands‑on clinical care—assessing each patient’s functional needs, designing evidence‑based treatment plans, and guiding them toward greater independence in everyday activities. You will contribute your expertise to an interdisciplinary team committed to person‑centred rehabilitation and measurable, high‑quality outcomes.
EQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy with community-service year completed
Registered with the HPCSA as an independent practitioner and covered by malpractice insurance
CPD portfolio up to date in line with HPCSA standards
Bobath / Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) training an advantage
Basic or intermediate wheelchair assessment/prescription skills beneficial
FCE training beneficial
Driving assessment training beneficial
Keen interest in both paediatric and adult neurological rehabilitation
Minimum 3 years’ experience in neurology, cognitive therapy, and spinal‑cord injury care
Broad clinical exposure, including orthopaedics, SCI, and neurology
Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working within an interdisciplinary team
Valid driver’s licence and reliable own transport
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of the ICF Framework
Good written and spoken English language skills (Afrikaans and Xhosa will be advantageous)
Effective interdisciplinary team member
Awareness of evidence-based interventions
Computer literacy
Ability to prioritise workload
