Team Leader (HVL Packing), Midrand

• You will be responsible for supervising team members in their specific Packaging areas. Setting and maintenance of machines. Ensuring that packaging processes are carried out according to specified procedures and methods.

Qualifications and Experience

• • Trade Tested Artisan (preferably N6 Mechanical, Fitting or Mechatronics), Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, or related qualification
  • At least 3 - 5 years' experience with high volume machinery in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing or FMCG

Key Performance Areas:

• Provide comprehensive shift performance by filling the performance sheet “SIC” accurately with all the required details and update Halden at the end of shift
• Lead and actively participate in MBU1 meetings and processes
• Ensure that team members that are returning after an unplanned absence have had the necessary return to work interview, brought the necessary documentation and completed the requisite leave forms on the first day of the employee's return to work.
• Ensure lunch break of the team is within allocated time
• Ensure that the team minimises all kinds of waste
• Ensure that no Packaging activities are performed under non-compliant environmental conditions
• Perform daily verification of All the scales/balances in the area before commencing with packaging activities
• Ensure that no out-of-calibration scale is used in the area
• Ensure that any out of calibration equipment is visibly labelled as such and removed from the area where possible
• Liaise with the Shift Leader and the manufacturing to ensure that packaging materials are available timeously for packaging
• Before any packaging processes are started, ensure that ALL the packaging materials are checked, that quantities and identification are correct for ALL the packaging materials
• Ensure that the packaging document is endorsed with signatures and dates promptly as the process occurs
• Ensure that good documentation practices are followed and maintained as packaging activities are being performed
• Ensure that packaging activities are performed in line with the MPDR process instructions
• Promptly report any observed safety incidents or risks to the Shift Leader and the SHE representative
• Ensure that action is taken to minimise risks
• Ensure that high levels of housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained before, during and after manufacturing
• Ensure that employees apply safe and quality-compliant ways of working with no deviations from established standards.
• Ensure that MOPs are updated and personnel are fully trained
• Ensure Shift Daily Weekly OEE targets are met
• Ensure that no batches are rejected due to team deviations from procedures or processes
• Ensure that the yield of all the packed batches is within the specified limit
• Ensure that change overs are carried out quickly within the allocated time
• Ensure PPMs are always up to date
• Escalate any stoppage that is more than 10 minutes to the Shift leader
• Raise a Job card for all breakdowns on Pragma when escalating to engineering
• Ensure that the job card raised is closed before production commences and a copy is placed in the packaging document.
