Cost and Inventory Accountant, Lichtenburg

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or related is essential.
• Must have previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail and excellent analytical and report writing skills are required for this role.
• Must have inventory management knowledge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Establishing, developing and maintaining cost accounting systems.
• Developing and implementing internal controls related to inventory.
• Preparing inventory analysis reports and identifying variances.
• Capturing and completing month end journals within set deadlines.
• Reconciling inventory accounts.
• Monitoring inventory transactions.
• Ensuring the accuracy of product cost criteria within the plant.
• Preparing periodic reports, comparing standard costs to actual production costs, and presenting reports to management.
• Managing the stocktake function, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Identifying areas of risk and improvement.
• Providing daily, weekly and monthly reporting on expenses and inefficiencies throughout the value chain.
• Assisting with the preparation of internal and external audits.
