We are committed to the achievement and maintenance of diversity and equity in employment.Job Description WSP South Africa is looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Professional Civil Engineer with road and civil infrastructure design experience, who will function as a senior design engineer and project manager for municipal infrastructure projects in South Africa and also able to support the international business as required.Key Responsibilities Design of municipal roads and infrastructure using Civil3D Project management and interfacing with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects Provide technical input from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility to design development and construction implementation to project close outCarry out investigations, surveys, design, engineering calculations and preparation of working drawings and estimates Review overall project design and suggest technical and design improvements Assist with the preparation of cost estimates on project designs Keep up to date with industry advances, and be aware of policy and technical developments in this disciplineReview technical submissions, assessing technical risks and proposing mitigation strategies to reduce risk exposure in project Assist with and/or conduct any other necessary aspects of a project that fall within the discipline of the role. Monitoring project construction and acceptance including site visits and commissioning supervision; and detail oriented with strong skills in municipal Infrastructure and roadsAbility to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skills Undertake and lead team to execute civil engineering design tasks as part of project development Client liaison and project management Health and Safety Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behavior consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around youContributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times Qualifications and Experience Required B Tech / BEng or BSc Civil Engineering Professional Registration (PrEng/ PrTech Eng)5 - 8 years’ experience in design engineering Extensive experience with the Civil3D Suite Proven competence in Civil infrastructure Engineering Design including Roads and Geometric Design Experience as Project Manager with resources and Municipal and other clients What's in it for you?
