1. Role Purpose To manage and optimise the organisation’s debtor portfolio through proactive credit control, stakeholder engagement, governance compliance, and strategic cash flow management, ensuring reduced debtor risk, improved collections performance, and effective support of the organisation’s financial objectives.
2. Key Responsibilities
Debtors&Collections Management
Manage allocated debtors portfolio in line with payment terms and collection targets.
Follow up on outstanding invoices and overdue accounts.
Reduce aged debt and support cash flow optimisation initiatives.
Escalate unresolved accounts in accordance with governance procedures.
Contribute to working capital improvement initiatives.
Support monthly cash flow forecasting and collection planning.
Analyse collection trends and provide recommendations to management.
Drive proactive recovery strategies for long outstanding debt.
Account Administration
Validate invoice and credit note accuracy and completeness.
Perform daily account maintenance and bank allocations.
Ensure supporting documentation is attached and accurately maintained on SAP.
Customer Relationship Management
Resolve customer account and billing queries professionally and efficiently.
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct customer meetings and collection follow-ups where required.
Manage escalated customer account disputes and payment negotiations.
Engage professionally with senior customer stakeholders and internal business leaders.
Support resolution of billing disputes impacting collections performance.
Build strong relationships to improve collection outcomes and customer retention.
Reporting&Financial Control
Prepare accurate age analysis and collections reports.
Maintain daily cash collection updates and reconciliations.
Support audit readiness and compliance activities.
Analyse debtor ageing trends and provide management insights.
Prepare collection performance summaries and escalation reports.
Identify recurring billing or process issues impacting collections.
Governance&Compliance
Adhere to financial controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of customer financial information.
Maintain compliance with internal governance and reporting standards.
Credit Risk&Governance Management
Monitor debtor risk exposure and identify high-risk accounts.
Recommend escalation, suspension, or legal recovery actions where required.
Support the implementation and enforcement of credit control policies and procedures.
Analyse payment trends and identify potential collection risks proactively.
Ensure compliance with audit, governance, and financial control requirements.
Team Support&Process Improvement
Provide guidance and support to junior credit controllers where applicable.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance operations environment.
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend operational improvements.
Support training and knowledge sharing within the team

5. Qualifications&Experience Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12 / Matric
Diploma or Certificate in Credit Management, Finance, or Accounting
Advantageous Qualifications:
Basic Business Finance qualification (NQF 5)
SAP Certification or SAP Financial Systems exposure
Experience:
3–5 years’ experience in a corporate credit control environment
Experience managing high-volume or high-value debtor accounts
SAP experience preferred
Experience within ICT or services industry advantageous
6. Role Impact and Decision Rights
Contributes directly to organisational cash flow and working capital performance.
Responsible for maintaining debtor account integrity and collection performance.
Escalates high-risk accounts and unresolved disputes to management
